One of my clients wanted me to add a video to their website today. The video looked to be created on an iPhone.
The video looked great on my iMac, but when I uploaded the video and tried to view it on the site with the videojs plugin in WordPress, the video was sideways.
After a little searching online, I found that some video editors allow you to rotate the video. I didn’t want to buy one of the video editors that I kept finding online, so I got to looking around at the tools I’ve already purchased.
I finally found a straighten option in Stomp. I purchased stomp to make optimize videos and reduce the file size.
Stomp was part of a package deal with iShowU HD which is what I use on my Mac to record videos. It worked like a charm!
Moral of the story? Look around in any video editors you may have purchased to see if you can find a rotate or straighten option.
If you don’t have a video editor or if you can’t find a rotate or straighten option and you are on a Mac, check out Stomp!
P.S. My friend, Tracey Owens, looks GREAT in the video, sideways or not. Stay tuned and I’ll tell you where you can find Tracey’s videos!
